Through the memory of La Maradona —the leader of a youth delinquency gang in 1980s Vigo—, Nuria Vil builds a poetic universe that blends the imagery of cine quinqui with the city’s working-class history, bringing into the present key references from contemporary Galician literature and a powerful vindication of the LGBTIQA+ community. Directed by Alba Domínguez, the film combines Super 8 footage from Manoel da Costa’s archive, portraying Vigo in the 1980s, with fictional scenes shot in and around Vigo, Nigrán, and inside the historic 1968 Cometa bus, kindly provided by Vitrasa.
